Locals - Need help with Furniture Store(s)
All:
I need some help with furniture stores on STT.
I'll be on-island June 17-24 and will be shopping for furniture to furnish our (recently purchased) condo. Does anyone know of a furniture store(s) that stocks wicker & material type furniture? I'd like to receive it before I leave the island.
Needs: Sofa bed, Chairs, Coffee & End Tables, Bar Stools, Dinette table & chairs, etc.
Your help is appreciated.......
Thanks,
Future Islander
You can find some nice stuff at SIlk Greenery Home and The Cloth Horse, both in Ft. Mylner, one across the street from the other. There is also a new place by the airport called Nutmeg Imports.

Ronnie:
Thank you.
I don't have much time on STT (June 17-24) to do all that I need to. We just closed on our condo and it needs maintenance, painting & furniture. Having this information now will save me time during my visit. Could I trouble you for telephone numbers....or a VI phone book website? Have you heard of a place called "Rooms To Go"?
.....appreciate your response.

Saw an ad last night for Rooms To Go and it looked like they have very nice things, appears to be good quality.
Paul:
Thanks.
I just hope they have the furniture (that I like) in stock. It would be nice to complete everything during my visit.

Rooms to go is nice, just fairly expensive by my standards. Most of their stuff has a traditional "stateside" feel to it, meaning heavy leather couches rather than rattan (for example). If your looking for nice matching rooms to go (as the name implies), and you don't mind spending $2-3k per room, then that's your place. You could furnish a whole house in one trip. Their stuff does seem more suited to a big stateside house though (and you will find some of those here) than to a light airy, island apartment. FYI, Rooms To Go is located in the Four Winds shopping center in Tutu.
I also like Hunter's in Red Hook. They have some nice antiques and offbeat furnishings.

Thanks for the info....it's much appreciated.
Yes, we would like to go with the "island type" furniture. But, I only have a week to do maintenance & buy furniture. Hopefully I can accomplish it while I'm on-island.
