living expenses?

If you've never been to St. Thomas, what you may want to do is check their newspaper -The Daily News- and look in the classified for apt or home rentals...rent is normally $500.00 a month for something nice the only utilities is electric...as long as you dont get a gas stove you will be ok....also there are a lot of state siders that move there and are looking for roommates....be careful and good luck.....have a job before you get there dont worry about a car....St Thomas is very small and easy to get around....you will love...summertime 24/7-365 and very mellow....I've move back home to Detroit and regret it everyday of my life....maybe one day I will be able to go back but until then.....

At least it's not snowing here in Michigan (I'm in Grand Rapids), but you what that means? Spring won't come until sometime in May! Looks like Dawn and I will not be moving until July...we're getting a little discouraged with the time delay, but we are committed to July! NO MORE DELAYS!

The Daily News online will help a bit but they do not list all of their print newspapers classifieds and they don't have the Island Trader online which is where most of the classifieds are. You can check out rent averages in the chart in the housing section of the moving guide on this site. You might want to order a Settler's Hand Book (you can find it at http://www.vitraders.com )and read it well so that you are well informed about island living and moving here and can prepare well. Its tough to find apartments while not on island.
