Live-in Nanny Job?

Hello everyone!
I read this message board all of the time! I am always amazed at how helpful and nice everyone is! I hope someone can help me! I am planning a move to the USVI (St. Thomas?-not real picky!) and I wanted to know if anyone out there has heard of any live-in nanny positions. I have searched all over the internet and can't find much of anything! I have a solid resume, a degree in psychology, plenty of references and I LOVE KIDS! I am really excited to move and would love the opportunity to meet an amazing family as well as others! Please let me know a) if any of you are looking, or, b) if there is a good website for me to look at!
Thank you so much for your time and help!

You might have to contact an agency. From what I understand most people will use one because they do the background checks.
However, you might get paid better if you can find someone who gives you a good recommendation and referal. I would also place an ad in the VI Newspaper.

Thank you Iris for your input! You don't happen to know of any nanny agencies based out of the USVI do you? I just can't seem to find any info from Oregon:) I have a newspaper... I will have to look into placing an ad! That is a great idea!

Hello Stephenie,

I know of one on island http://www.nanniesinparadise.com/, it services mostly visitors/hotels though.

I have met a few nannies over the years; one was from Ireland, another England and a couple from the US. In any case they had gotten their jobs by being found through an agency or website. I remember one family that I knew on island that had a nanny mentioned using aupair.com among several others that I can't remember.
