Just a couple quick questions everybody..

First of all, I only have a couple days left in the Beautifully wet PDX, OR.. any of the vast Oregonians on this board want me to bring them a hometown memento? Some snow from Hood or a Portland Mercury perhaps? Okay Okay! I hear you! Anything but the weather...

I'm arriving on STX the 28th and have a place to stay in Christiansted for a couple weeks. I know it's a shot in the dark, but by chance anyone on the board know of a 1 bedroom rental in the same area opening up with a year lease or so? I know, I know.. check out the Island Trader when I get there.. I will, but it can't hurt to try here..

And what are the general feelings about tattoos on the islands? Do you see alot of people in the service industry with them? Is this a social taboo? Or if not social, I'm wondering if because of the nature of the economy, if the service industry is as neat and clean as the brochures make it out to be. Are there any Tattoo shops on any of the islands? To me this is a lifestyle, not some silly trend and I of course want to explore the world I'm about to call home for all it's natural wonder and beauty, but I would love to be able to embrace the other things I love as well (I just re-read this last sentence, and NO I don't mean drugs.. I'm still waxing about Tattoo's)... just curious

Thanks again and I'll see y'all real soon,
Jesse

PS.. Marty, Limin is my new favorite word...

Do we send the Island Trader to STX? I don't see STX phone numbers, so I am guessing no. How about the Avis?

We have 2 tattoo parlor's here on STT, right across from Havensight.

Check out my e-mail address: limin@surfvi.com! haha! I liked my old one bettter: limin@islands.vi, but I didn't like the service, so I switched to surfvi cuz it's cheaper and reliable.

Just wanted to change the subject title in hopes of some more info...

Any idea on the health standards of the shops on STT? Any idea of the names of the shops or info on the artists? Has anybody on the board gone under the needle at one of these shops?

Thanks,
Jesse

You can probably find them in the yellow pages at www.viphonebook.com. If not, lemme know and I'll stop by and get their info for you.

Hello Jesse,

A tattoo here and there you see (primarily at the beach when you can see upper arms, chest, back...). A whole bunch of tattoos, facial tatoos... you don't see.

Service industry employees being neat and clean... depends on the type of restaurant/bar/hotel... we have casual bars where wait staff wear t-shirts and shorts and we have fine dining where staff wear nicely pressed black slacks and white dress shirt.

All the best with you move next week! Once on island be sure to come back and let us know how its going!
