life change and so much more....
Dear Islander, East Ender, ect. My husband and myself love reading your responses and are finally ready for posting our main question. Here goes....
We are Domino's Pizza Franchisees here in the states. Are looking to buy the two stores for sale in St. Thomas. Our communication with the seller is fragmented at best. He is a very busy man....so. Maybe you can give some personal insight,,,,are you even aware these stores exist? Are there any 'rumors' about them,,,,poor service,,,ect. (just had our neighbors go visit for a day, and they asked but got responses like,,,,oh, didnt know we had any Domino's here...)
We are so close to buying them now, and basically have to make that leap of faith to come out and visit, jump into the fray, take this guy's word for it, (a huge life change for us).... A difficult thing has been trying to book at trip to come check them out, without all the extras. We would love to just fly in, check into a basic hotel, and be like flies on the walls, or maybe iguanas on the sand. If we are going to do this, us and two babies will need to get real and live and work with all the other hard working locals. (as opposed to owning a million stores all over the world and acting like big shots)~
One is located in the TuTu Mall, the other in Nisqy center. (sp?)
I thank you in advance, and respectfully await your thoughts on any of this.
(p.s. one thing that slightly scares us would be the concept of us being a delivery business,,,,with all the craziness of the driving there.....) mabye a fleet of vespas would be a good idea-? :>)
Honestly? Yes, I know there are Domino Pizza places here. I have never eaten at them. I prefer Pizza Amore, Sopchoppy's, XO pizza. I didn't know that Domino delivered here.
Honesty is just what we need. Honestly, the seller has said...okay, but I think you guys are crazy....and,,,these two stores have been a pain in my side since I purchased them....seems like he wants to scare us away....or honestly let us know what we'de be getting into. That's why I love hearing from you what you think. Because we are close and apprehensive as well as excited. We can only do so much research, and then must take a chance.
Got any thoughts on living there with two toddlers? (I can imagine being able to say how growing up there would be very good for the soul-)........
Hello Mella,
Glad you enjoy the site and the board and of course reading our answers. 🙂
If I am aware of Dominos on St. Thomas - Yes. Not sure who your friends asked - but I am sure if they said do you know if there is a "pizza place by the mall" they might have gotten more yes answers from locals then do you know if there are any dominos pizza here.
Never heard any bad rumors about them. I have been to both shops; in Tutu and Nisky Center. I don't have much experience with the one in Nisky but the one in Tutu - to be honest - LOL... I knew three of the ladies that worked there by first name and they knew me and what I ordered too. Sad right. LOL. (I knew the ladies before they worked there...) The Tutu shop is not very large, its right at the entrance of the Tutu Park Mall; I often wondered why it was not in the food court area but I figured that if it were in the food court then it would have to close at mall hours but since it was on the front of the building it had its own door and could open when it liked. Service was good, folks friendly and I ate there quite often; before I gave up fast food. My co-workers also ate there often and some of their kids after school picked up bread sticks or a slice of pizza there. I would order and pick up so I am not familiar with whether it ever got really busy - and it only has like 3-4 small tables so can't keep that many people anyway - I think its more a carry out type thing.
What about opening a new franchaise that we don't have?? Anyone have any fast food spots they would like to see come in??
I don't think they deliver everywhere - only certain areas. A premove trip is a great great great idea!!! Look for a plane ticket; if the whole family can't come then one of you can come down - maybe a family member could watch your babies for a few days while you and your husband came down. Stay at a nice but not overly fancy place - maybe Emerald Beach Resort or Carib Beach Resort by the airport. Rent a car - Nisky is fairly close to check out the shop there and Tutu is maybe 20 minutes drive to the "country". Definately look into coming down and checking things out.
