Thanksgiving is just a couple days away. While it is the begining of the holiday season, we should all take time out & say thanks.
The tradation was started as a feast and celebration of life, love, new friendships and the kindness of strangers. Lets keep the tradation going..........celebrate life, grab your loved ones & hold on tight, call that friend you've been thinking about, and lets NOT FORGET those less fortunite & continue the kindness. Got an xtra can of soup in the pantry? Out grew those shorts? I'm sure someone would be very grateful for them! Have a neighbor struggling to make ends meet w/kids............become a secrete Santa!!
Happy Holidays to all!

Yes indeed we should be thankful for what we have. It is so easy to focus on what we DON'T have but not so easy to remember and be thankful for what we DO have. This year in particular I am also thankful that Omar spared STX...it could have been soooo much worse. Look at Cayman Brac and Paloma, that could have been us!

I am thankful that I have food to eat, safe drinking water, clean shelter and loved ones. There are lots of places in the world where people get hungry and stay hungry - unlike us, they cannot even FIND food even if they had the money to buy it. Which most of the time, they don't. There are war, drought, ethnic cleansing, and grinding poverty to keep them hungry, miserable, and fearful for the lives of their families.

It's easy to forget, and thanks for reminding us, islandtyme.(tu)

Even with our recent outage, we have so much to be thankful for!
Best wishes to all of you and yours!

ThanksGiving is my favorite holiday... great food; no presents; great left over food; huge portions of food; usually a distant relative or two.... and, did I mention the food?

But, I gotta tell you, I'm more than a bit jealous of you islanders. I'm already wishing that after a great, early T'day feast... that I could just waddle down to the beach and recover in the warmth of the Sun, and with the sound of the waves. Can you actually float after a T'Day feast, or do you have to stay out of the water for a day or two?

Happy TurkeyDay...

Well, at the risk of being cheesy... I am thankful for this online community. I literally would not be here today, typing this from my bedroom in St. John, were it not for the help I have received here. (Don't let my profile's "Joined" date fool you; I've been around this board for many years -- lost my previous login ID.) I'm grateful for the connections among us all.

Let's all be Thankful , Yes I couldn't agree more. It is tough on the island sometimes, I gave my local homeless guy a couple of extra shots of rum tonight. It's not much, but he appreciated it and he may watch my back when I need it sometime. BTW I hear that the salvation army will feed them really good tomorrow. Yours may want to know that. Just a thought.
