Too many!
Just ran into a hundred or so Mapp supporters at the store. All wearing blue shirts. Several asked for my vote, none could answer were the money will come from for 1000 new government jobs. Just kick the can down the street I guess. I guess no one realizes we are at or very close to the end of the road. I really hope that enough people realize that few things stand between continuing to swirl around close too the bottom of the toilet and prosperity in the VI. There are people willing to invest here. After a long hard look at the government that they will deal with, many change there minds. There comes an opportunity to change things once every two years. I do know one thing, making a lazy bloated government larger will not change things for the better. Not here, or in the states.
I'm not voting for the group who had a motorcade this afternoon, blocking the intersections for 30 minutes as they drove through. Inconsiderate leadership shows!
My sister who lives in stj had to come over to stt go to or irb in red hook to take care of a problem with renewing her business license last week.
She said that the ordeal was excruciating and the only person, at the time, in the office was excruciatingly rude and unhelpful. She said that she wasn't going to leave only to have to come back another day to go thru the same ordeal so she stuck it out and finally got what she needed.
I'd have been asking for the witch's supervisors name. I told her she should write a letter outlining her treatment and file a complaint.
That's what we pay taxes for, rudeness and pitiful service.
We surely need more of it.
... expose their fowl play over the past four years...
Oh good! Does that mean he is going to get those 500 people to kill the darn chickens??

If you saw the motorcade at around 1-3 p.m. or so, that was Janette Millen Young. She was, I think, the only one with police escorted motorcade. Several candidates had supporters on the road, but she was the only one I saw with a motorcade.
Mapp's government jobs promise to his credit are all defined and require certified teachers, and registered nurses, and trained graduated pikicemn and licensed tax collectors, to address the issue of their qualifications. Education and training tend to result in more polite service. We are currently paying overtime heavily for police and corrections. The overtime pay would be channeled into salaries for middle class. One third of all teachers now are retirees who are substitutes earning double income, and foreign teachers who never stay. The new teacher monies would be come from moving it away from this giant substitute pool half of whom are walking with canes and do t want to be there for long. The hourly rate for substitutes is higher than for permanent.
Currently deJongh has a huge legion of political hires half of whom were dictated by the hack group VI Restore Hope who was his negative campaign Gestapo. They are working with Donna now and demanding at least 100 new political jobs.
Diase Coffelt is a wonderful breath if fresh air. If Mapp wins I wish she would consider becoming the Atty General. Her anti corruption stance and her plan for education is what can turn this territory around. I am torn between the two of them. If you cannot stomach Mapp she is excellent as either a second choice or even your first choice. She has a brilliant running mate unlike Donna's goofball who refuses to refute that he has been voting in Maryland. He is from a long line of political hacks and he is the worst of that lot. Could not answer questions well at many of the forums.
Christensen has very swollen ankles and is frequently out if breath. She is a very sweet lady, but in the past she has stated that she doesn't have the administrative skills for the governor's seat. If she wins, VI Restore Hope and the political cronies if the now convicted Alvin Eilliams and the Democratic Party will be running the VI. She is hands off now just like she was As Commissioner of Health.
Christensen was more of a Clinton socialite in DC not making waves than a fighter for all the things we were left out of. The hospital went to the brink of financial collapse in part because she wasn't involved enough before in 2011 when it was brought to her attention. She said nothing when qualified nurses were being laid off. Nope. Donna represent more of the same. The same rude inefficient entitled political operatives. Half of her support is from people who want to continue their do nothing jobs, with government cars and taxpayer cellphones. Yuck.
So that's where I am. Coffelt is the best choice with a brilliant energetic no nonsense running mate and her poll numbers have been doubling by the week and is poised for an upset. She can win in a run off.
Mapp is a bright guy, maligned by deJongh, with a substantive plan to replenish the desk aged middle class by shuffling overtime money to a new class of working families.
Donna is an exhausted lovable socialite with a cheesy dummy for a running mate who is sitting a heartbeat away from the governorship, both allowing cruise control of nepotism and a tired eye to corruption.
Mapp voted in the States and lied about it when he ran for senate and won. The senate voted him out after the state confirmed he had voted for Jesse Jackson's presidential candidacy.
The Daily News article can be found online by googling.

A bright guy? More a rather transparently manipulative politico with many skeletons in the closet other than that particular one mentioned. It's unfortunate that your support of him seems solely based on your allegation that the present governor (for whom you have such an obsessive - and often seemingly paranoid - disregard) "maligns" him.
Mapp is a bright guy, he just lacks honesty and integrity. He is also well versed as ot mentioned in being a transparently manipulative politico with his own skeletons and his own bunch of cronies awaiting their plush appointments in "his" government.
Pretty smart pandering to government employees with the promise of hundreds of new jobs. Heaven help us!
The majority of our west Indian population does not want gay marriage, regardless of what you or I may think, want or wish.
It matters not what our West Indian populations wants. The same sex marriage issue has already been decided by the US Supreme Court. Its only a matter of time before its recognized in the VI.
Didn't they leave it up to individual states as to whether they would legalize it or not which is why there is still ongoing controversy?
Didn't they leave it up to individual states as to whether they would legalize it or not which is why there is still ongoing controversy?
That's my understanding. No Federal mandate has been handed down.
Every state that has challenged the legality of same sex marriage in their jurisdictions have lost as will the VI.

Maybe - when and if it becomes an issue which right now it's not.
Vote for Coffelt/Canegata because they are the right choice.
Don't vote for someone else just because you don't want the other person to win.
Remember - this will be too close to call. No one will get over 50% of the vote. There will be a run-off.
Give Coffelt/Canegta a chance to be part of it.
I agree, IslandHops. Coffelt/Canegata is our best chance to change some things within the government here. All others in the race will just keep figuring out ways to line their own pockets as we all suffer from their corruption. And, although I do not agree with Coffelt's stance on gay marriage or decriminalization of marijuana (I am in support of both of those issues), there are far greater concerns for us here in the territory at this point and time. I feel that Coffelt/Canegata would truly make a difference if elected.
I agree with islandhops and pilatesgal and I'm voting Coffelt/Canegata tomorrow.
I hope they win!!!!! There is a chance. I still think Mapp and Christensen will split the STX vote and if enough Thomanians vote for Coffelt/Canegata they just might win.
Of course that assumes that the election really is not rigged...
but that's a continuation of another discussion....
I'm voting Coffelt/Canegata tomorrow as well.
Tired of all the crap we are forced to endure decade after decade.
Time for a change, indeed.
The reality is that its a two horse race. A vote for Donna is a vote against Mapp and vice versa.
A vote for Coffelt is a vote against both of them...
True.
And Donna is more of the same.
Coffelt it is then.
Only one person has mentioned Mona Barnes. Is she not even a possibility?

Who?
Her radio commercials are soooo annoying. I could never vote for someone who was an active pastor for a church.
