Join us for the Event of the Year!!
The Humane Society of St. Thomas will host its annual fundraiser, the elegant Valentine’s Ball, Saturday Feb. 13, 2016 at Villa Botanica at the Crown and Hawk Botanical Gardens, with cocktails at 6:30p.m., followed by dinner and silent auction at 7:30pm.
Affectionately known as the "Doggy Ball," this event is the non-profit organization’s largest fundraising event of the year. This year’s Doggy Ball promises to be a fun and festive evening at a chic picturesque new venue with an upscale disco theme "Dancing for the Dogs and Cats." Music will be provided by DJ Eric Snow to get the party going and keep everyone dancing all night. There will be a silent auction with many unique items up for bid. This event supports the Humane Society of St. Thomas’ ongoing efforts to provide food, medical care, and adoption services for homeless animals on St. Thomas. The Humane Society of St. Thomas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been devoted to making a difference in the U.S. Virgin Islands community since 1957, saving and finding homes for thousands of abandoned cats and dogs over the past 50+ years.
As mentioned, the event will be located at Villa Botanica at the Crown and Hawk Botanical Gardens, with cocktails starting at 6:30p.m., followed by dinner and silent auction at 7:30pm. There is no parking at the venue. Parking will instead be located at the Crown Bay Center and complimentary shuttles will begin at 6:00pm and will run all night long. Individual tickets are $155 per person and reserved tables for 10 people are also available for purchase for $1,550. Tickets are available at many outlets island-wide, including at the Humane Society campus, downtown locations of Fresh Produce and Billabong, Yacht Haven Grande’s How Bout your Pet, Caribbean Surf Co. in Havensite, Forever Flowers in Frenchtown, Red Hook locations of Caribbean Surf Co and Chelsea Drugs, SubBase locations of Phoenix Visions Hair Design and Style A Dog, VIP Pet Supply next to Cost U Less, and MSI Interiors.

After remembering your post about the Christmas Eve party when that music was so disturbing for you, you may understand how dismayed I am to read this event will be held at a purported "Botanical Garden" in our totally residential neighborhood and how unexcited I am about a disco Dj and dancing to music all night - despite the excellent charity it benefits.

I hear you but "don't shoot the messenger."
No shots intended.
I may start a petition to stop the event. 😉
Villa Botanica where it's being held is beautiful.
If you've never been there, you should definitely check it out, whether at this event or at another time. It's a 5 acre tropical garden.

You can just join the neighbors in the picket line outside instead.

Will there be pitchforks?

And torches. On fire. We want torches!

You can count me in if both pitchforks and torches are involved.
