Hi all!

I am hoping to to come down this summer(June 2005) and being in Maho Bay Camp Worker Exchange Program. I have found the previous postings on finding a job very helpful. Since I want to make a permanent move I'm wondering is it possible to work another job at the same time so I don't have to spend too much of my savings while I look for a permanent place to live. I'm just seeking a part-time job like bartender/waiter to cover misc. expenses and food/drink etc. Has anyone done this? Is it possible? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there -

I was on the Maho website and noticed they have a few full time positions open with some including housing.

Perhaps this might be worth looking into.

Good luck!

Hello,

Did you read the review of the Maho Work Program at:

https://www.vimovingcenter.com/what_to_expect/movingstory31.php

Finding part time work on St. John is possiable. Keep in mind Maho is pretty out there from Cruz Bay - so transportation may be somewhat of an issue depending on the job/time ect. Are there any restrictions in the Maho Work Program against having another job that you found in doing your research about them?

When I was at Maho there was one guy who worked at a restaurant in town at night, he ended up buying a car because getting back to Maho at night especially in the off-season was nearly impossible... something to consider.

Now thats a good reality check. Work during the day, second job at night. Thats the reality of paradise for many.

Thanks for help, I contacted Maho and they told me that it's very rare, but some people do work other jobs. But that it is very far, expensive by cab to get to Cruz Bay. Also that some people stay and get on during the high season.
