My wife is already in STX and working. I’ll join her in early June and look for a job. From prior posts, it’s clear that you need to be on the islands and demonstrate some permanency in order to be taken seriously. In the mean time, it would be very helpful to see what’s available and do some planning.
The most comprehensive job site seems to be Caribbean Monster (www.workinginparadise.com). However, the last opening listed is from December. There’s not much listed on the VI Daily News, The Source, VI Dept. of Labor. Either the listings are stale or perhaps it’s because the positions can’t be filled. Then there are the Government of VI openings and Fed Jobs. Finally, I know about listings for major employers such as Hovensa and Stanford. The normal state-side boards aren't much help.
There was a site listed on this board a couple of months ago that had quite a few jobs right up my alley but I’ll be darned if I can find it again. My background is accounting, administration, management, sales, and marketing. Can you tell me what the deal is with Caribbean Monster and any other job web sites that you suggest?
Thank you posters for answering so many questions. It seems like 98% of my questions are answered by many of you using the search function. Please don't flame me if these particular questions have already been asked -- I did search. 🙂

Did you try the Divi Resort and Casino? Their website is www.carinabay.com. You say you have experience in marketing - the email address listed is for fran@carinabay.com, and she used to be in charge of the marketing department. She is very friendly, and I'm sure at least will be able to give you some helpful advice.

I've been checking this job board a lot...it's updated daily and has an "Advanced Search" that allows you to target an individual island.
Lots of jobs listed, from clerk to architect to sales to marketing - very wide spectrum of salaries.

Thank you for your responses.
I gather from other postings that some skills are plentiful and others are in short supply. For example, it would seem that certain trades and healthcare professional are in short supply while there is an abundance of unskilled labor on the islands. My background is more administrative/ financial/ marketing and that seems to be somewhere in the middle of the demand curve.
