Jet Blue $78 Roundtrip SJU to STT and STX

This is definitely good news. American needs the competition. They may be loosing money system-wide but they sure do make up for it in the Caribbean.

I went to Puerto Rico on AA over Thanksgiving. I paid $110 each way but missed making the flight back by 15 minutes. It didn’t matter that the flight going to Puerto Rico was two hours late. They charged a $50 change fee and then I had to pay $25 for the FIRST item of checked luggage. It was a small bag that had to be checked because of toiletries. Total cost on AA for one leg = $185.

Where did you see that? We're looking to fly from Boston in Jan and everything seems to be via SJU?

we always fly jet blue.....they still have t.v.s and free checked bags (first bad that is)

They will be offering a direct flt from BOS to STT, according to their website.

But isn't that for Tue travel or something weird like that? I don't think it's for all flights all the time. Has anybody searched for weekend fares to SJU from STT?

Yes I believe it's for Tue and Wed travel between 1/5 and 2/15 if booked by 12/1/2011. It's $39 one way, so you still save if you pay the regular fare for the return.

I just tried to make a reservation for Fri, Jan 27, returning Sun, Jan 29. RT was $74 plus taxes/fees for a total of $86. I think I'll go ahead and book and figure out what to do later!

There are also some flights on Mondays and Tuesdays from STX to FLL for as low as $78-$123 one way. Rates go up over the few holiday weeks but if you check mid-December and mid-January they are cheap early in the week. Less than $200 round trip to Florida works for me! It makes a cheaper weekend shopping trip than going to SJU on American, too.

WOW! Not sure if they always had this but was just messing around with pretty much all of Florida. This is VERY appealing to me as I have a lot of ties in Tampa and in Tampa when I can. I just checked February and March, pretty heavy travel times of course, and $232 round trip to either STT or STX!!! Again, they might have always have this, but I never knew! Either way good news to pass on to any midwesterners or north east coast people that may travel to Tampa because we can either drive there in "decent" time, and of course from the midwest or east coast flights are cheap into Tampa! Gosh, if this is not something new I am kicking myself because I thought I researched everything for my upcoming March flight on AA and could have saved a lot. Anyway, whether this is new or old news, please still spread the Tampa prices around because that is great news and east and cheap flight from a major airport that gets lots of people! I will definitely use this sometime after March and will get to visit much more often now! OH YEAH!!! 😎
