Jeep trails to Tide Pools
Wife and I took the 4x4 scenic road up through rainforest today and found a lot of trails, but could not locate the trail that leads to tidal pools. We have hiked from Renaissance before but wanted a more direct way for bringing her parents when they visit. Anyone have good directions?
I would recommend doing a Tan Tan tour the first time, to get your bearings......really hard to elaborate directions when there are little markings. Also, the road is pretty steep..the guides at Tan Tan are really good at impromptu jeep fixes and getting jeeps unstuck! It's an awesome day too, by the way
I also agree that taking the Tan Tan Tour is a good way to discover the jeep trails to the tidal pools. We have taken that tour and it is quite an adventure. Not an easy path to get to the tidal pools. You will be amazed at what those jeeps will do and the skill of the drivers. After experiencing it with the Tan Tan drivers, you may or may not want to try it on your own.
After talking with a few locals today I am pretty sure we found the right trail, and you guys are right, that trail is way too steep for a factory jeep to tangle with. Lots of other fun trails for jeeping. Thanks for the help.
I have had my "stock" jeep down there many times. I even took my mother down in my F-150 4x4 shortbed.
The trail i found had about a mile long downhill slope of pretty severe angle with major ruts running down the side. I just can't see a stock jeep making that safely without some damage. If there is another trail besides the "road" to annaly bay, turn right past the Scenic Ridge gates and through the mud puddle. I would love to have directions. Our trail day wad one of the most exciting things we've done in the month we've lived here.
