Good Morning,

My husband and I would like to find an inexpensive restaurant that serves good italian food for dinner, preferably in the C'sted area. We have been to Tutto Bene and it was wonderful but are looking for a place less expensive. Thank you.

The other Italian place that springs to mind is Tivoli Gardens, but I'm not sure they are any less expensive.

...and Giovanni's does NOT fit the less expensive, either.
Many restaurants do have Italian on their menu tho. A few that come to mind are Breezez (at Club St croix condos), Rumrunner's (on the boardwalk) and Bombay Club (downtown). These are 3 of our favorite restaurants, they all have pasta on the menu. Prices are about $20.00 for an entree - which is pretty reasonable here in STX.

At Tutto Bene you can order half-orders of any of the pasta dishes. That was an elegant sufficiency for me, and my sister took a full half of her half-order of the pasta ala Bolongnese (best I've ever tasted!) back to the room.

Ditto on the half-orders at Tutto Bene. Huge!!! Also, please have a misto salad for me. They make it blue cheese (or is it gorgonzola) and pecans and it is so yummy! Also available in half-orders.

The Cultured Pelican is listed as Italian but is a bit out of town at Coakley Bay. Great pizza to go!

Onika - Gorgonzola on the Misto salad. Huge salad! but a bit tangy for me.

It is as pricey as Tutto Bene.

Cultured Pelican has 2 for 1 on Thursdays (I think that's the right day) - but you'd better call with reservations...we've been turned away twice because we can't seem to get the message....

Also, Just In Case deli on the east end makes a pizza you can bring home and cook yourself. It isn't real cheap, but it is loaded. My husband, who can easily eat a large pizza by himself, eats one slice and is stuffed...we make two meals off of one pie, which I think runs about $22-23 with three toppings. They have a white and a red pizza - the white was a little bland to my way of thinking, but still very good. The red sauce was excellent.

I was in STX a few weeks ago and ate at the Cultured Pelican. Very nice and they carry one of the best zinfandel wines I've had since I've been down here... the name of the vineyard has Catfish in it. Good food but I'm still partial to Tutto Bene.

Vinnie's, near the Sunny Isle Shopping Center does a good job on Italian food. Their prices are pretty good.
