Is the lrs hospital hiring and where else would an RN be able to work?
My wife is a nurse and if we moved there how do you think her job hunt would go?
They'd be wanting to know if she can start today.
Edited to say that I just noticed you posted the name of the hospital in your subject heading and I missed it. Not sure about that particualr hospital, but in general, nurses are in high demand in the VI.
I am not sure if you mean "RLS" aka Schneider Regional...but if so, you can check the website: http://www.rlshospital.org/index.htm Yes, they are always needing nurses! 😉
And there are other places, skilled nursing, home health, home hospice, doctor's offices, community health...
try a traveling nurse assigment first.
billd
IRS Hospital, interesting, you could call it that!
Soon, we could call it BHO Hospital, and only the same people will be paying the bills & the same will be leeching!
yes i meant rls and billd why would you say she should be a travelling nurse?
nimo: Many people on this board believe that traveling jobs are the only way to go. Travelers, however, are not really considered as part of the VI community and are not treated the best. If she wants to work at the hospital, I would recommend that she visit and talk to other employees. If she is interested in other settings, she could also network when she is here for the visit.
i would rather her get a more permanent nursing job because i would be working at uvi and we will stay on the island. She has had trouble finding the nursing job she wants up here on the mainland. Let me know where alse she can apply

how accurate is the careers section of schneider's website? there are a couple of IT jobs that have been open forever. is there nobody on island qualified for these?
dwood: I would call and talk to someone in HR. Sometimes they forget to pull the ads, but sometimes there is a small matter of salary. In IT, there is the possibility they don't pay enough to be competitive with mainland jobs.
nimo: Will send you a PM.
