I did a search and could not find a fresh answer for this. Does anyone know? Thank you in advance.

Nothing has changed with the airlines. You are allowed 6 bottles of liquor as free checked luggage. To be duty free you only need 1 bottle of the 6 to be rum that was produced on St. Croix.

Yeah I don't know why AA doesn't have anything for that on their website.

Because we don't exist. Oh wait, we must as somewhere there is 1.3 BILLION dollars recently added to the VI coffers yet we still need millions in borrowing. Sounds about like BS.

Maybe because it's neither a legality nor a corporate policy bur rather an agreement between the company and the VI Government?

Is the policy specific to the VI? Do they have it for PR?

I don't believe the free checking of liquor applies to flights leaving PR. As mentioned, it's a particular agreement entered into between the VI Government and the airline on flights originating in the territory.

It used to be the same out of PR years ago when we cruised out of San Juan back in the early 2000's. Don't know if it has changed. All bottles were supposed to be bought in a US territory and the 6th bottle produced in the Caribbean basin, central, south America or any one of the islands.
