IRB urges use of computers to file!!!
(from http://www.virginislandsdailynews.com/index.pl/article_home?id=17643402)
States "to move the process along, V.I. residents should fill out the forms available on the IRB's website"
I know the story is a month old, But the IRB's website, www.viirb.com, is down!
Wow, I didn't know that, "IRB clerks have been manually entering information from each tax return into the bureau's system for years."
I love this statement: "Our customers are not helping us by continuing to file handwritten forms." That could have been worded better, politically speaking.
Anybody who is expecting a refund should read that article. They talk about possibly not having the cash to pay refunds on a timely basis. That's why I recommend not over-paying the IRB (and not needing a refund) if you can help it.
The only issue is that someone was accidently blatantly honest. The taxpayers are clearly here for the benefits of VI government employees and not the other way around as it should be.
