Some things go over so many dull heads! Read and follow much local news? Good grief. And while we're on the subject, islandllovin', would it cripple you too much if you came back to a thread once in a while to say "thank you" for the input you've received to your questions? You may have some (ill-perceived) bum bug where certain posters are concerned but when those posters respond to your questions with perfectly civil and helpful responses, that's the least you could do,

We are getting some nice rain and thunder now on northside.
Hope that's all we get!

However, you know that no matter what, we can absolutely depend on the power going out.

I am ready except for the boarding up, dragging plants and furniture off decks and all the other arduous stuff one must do.
Shopping for food supplies, gas for truck and generator, extra water, pet food and supplies, books, battery operated fans and lights, spare batteries available, for when I do not want to run genarator and all the other stuff are already done.
Love those battery operated fans and lights!

Fingers crossed that TS Isaac will breeze by with no damage to any of our islands.
Yikes, it's so early in the season for this anxiety!

So is STX boarding up?

I guess we will wait until morning to see if necessary to drag everything in and close up shutters.
Looked at the 1PM weather channel update and it was looking disorganzied and raggedy, thanks to the dry air mass out in front of it, that so far, has been keeping it from developing.

However, ya never know with these things so stay glued to weather channel for updates.
We can always use the rain, the wind....not so much!

I hate hurricane season.
My anxiety level increases everytime they mention TD's, TS's and/or hurricanes or use the phrase, "we have to keep an eye on this system."

The rain we are getting now is from a weak tropical wave passing through our area and is unrelated to the future Isaac that should visit tomorrow night.

I'm doing the back shutters tonight and the front tomorrow after work. It sucks doing them in the rain. Supplies in. I am supposed to fly to Boston Thursday afternoon, that might not happen. Be safe.

Would anyone understand if I said that I was glad I'm not on island - and I'm sorry I'm not on island?

Pretty calm and quiet here - no rain, couple of lightning flashes here on northside STT, right now.
This is after it being so breezy /windy this morning and afternoon that I was feeling like i was getting wind burn inside the house.
I completely understand being glad about not being here but the only way to be sure that you have covered your bases and your property is protected is basically to do it yourself or have a TOTALLY trusted person do it for you.

There is allot involved in prep, whether/weather you are here or not. Lots of work, sometimes for nothing but better to prepare than not.
I will drag all my outdoor furniture and plants (lots) inside and back out , probably a couple times this yr. This makes # 1 fire drill but now
I do not have to have to worry about furniture sliding around on the deck and my fragile deck plants getting beat to death by any wind.

Isaac is a raggedy storm and has 3 centers? Glad the dry air is influencing it, still. Hope it stays that way!

Hope the weather treats all you Crucians well. Us, too, in STT, STJ, WI, BVI, etc.

Oops - here come a nice shower!

I might add that power just went out here in Dorothea!
There is no howling wind, rain just started > cheezenbreead, meeson.
One thing we can always count on is not to count on WAPA!
