Innovative Or Choice
I need some help with my phone/internet system. I want to ave as much as possible.
I can add a phone to my Sprint Family plan and get a 340 exchange for 7.50. . So I went down to Innovative today and said I wanted to cancel my land line phone. They said no problem but my internet service would go from 50/month to 65/month. That is for 512. So the net savings would only be about 10 a month.
So I went over to Choice. They have a 45/month and 1 M speed plan. I can get service from St. John or from the Witterburg tower. I also don't need 3M service.
I live right over sapphire beach and one of my tenants had choice back when. The service was pretty good. And Innovative's Internet service has been good.
I could save much more by going to choice. I just wonder how their service has been in this area as I see various negative comments about both. And I would like to know about service in the east end by Red hook to Sapphire?
Anybody got some comments about Choice?

I've heard mostly disappointing reviews about Choice internet.
Have you considered Broadband VI for $49.99 mo.?
I have heard good and bad about Choice. On STJ, some locations get great service and others not.

I'll check out broadband.

Sprint's CHARGING now for an area code???? Did you call their customer service number or did you go to their store in Lockhart? I'm pretty sure I didn't have to pay for a 340 area code the last time I added a new line.
But, a 340 area code saves you in fees and taxes compared to most other stateside area codes!
Definitely look into BroadbandVI -- we've been very pleased with their service.
Just got broadband installed today. Great so far!!
what are the true up and down speed test results with BBVI?
0.88 Mbps down and 0.61 Mbps up
That's using http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ from STX to Atlanta with BBVI's cheapest plan.
Hughesnet has a new KA Band service. We have Express 200 plan @109.m. Using speakeasy routed thru Atlanta we get 1.9Mbps down and .23Mbps up.

We have both and BBVI has the better customer service (Choice's customer service is good also but tech support is spotty at best if you call the 340 number but good if you use their stateside tech support) and used to be the most consistent. Choice is cheaper and faster WHEN it's up. We initially bought their 5 mps service but could barely get 3 so we stepped down to it. While I was out of town the family reactivated BBVI because Choice went down or locked up too often.
We're moving back to the states this week and our son is looking forward to 20+ mps for about $40!
