*I am a telecommuter for IBM and want to move to the Island. Need to know if high-speed or broadband internet service is available. If dial-up is my only option, that will do but I'll need to have a second phone line. Are phone lines easily and quickly installed? What about cell phones...are rates reasonable to the States? Is service reliable?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry...didn't say which island....St. Thomas.
There is no cable modem service on STX (dunno about STT). DSL and satellite service are both available on STX (and thus, I assume, STT as well--we usually get *less* than they do).
Phone lines are easily installed, but not quickly. People often wait months before their service is connected, and that's when there's already a line installed! (I waited two and a half weeks to have my service switched on, and that's considered quick.)
Cellphone service is, at the moment, limited to Cingular, Sprint, and Innovative (the local phone company). You can use other cellphones down here, but you'll end up paying roaming charges. Costs and reliability of service are otherwise no different than in the states (for the national companies, anyway--I use Cingular for my cell service and can't speak to how the local company compares). Reception can be spotty depending where you are on the island.
