In search of 1 bedroom apt on st. Thomas feb 1st 2017
Hello!
I am moving to st. Thomas on February 1st of 2017 and am in search of a one bedroom apartment for my girlfriend and I. We are chefs from Chicago looking to take six months to a year off . any and all advice or direction is appreciated!
Thanks so much
Ryan

My advice for what it's worth is that unless you know the island very well already, know where you will be working and have funds for immediately buying a vehicle --- don't consider renting a place sight unseen.
February is considered the "height of season."
If you haven't yet made reservations for a place/hotel to stay while you're looking for a rental, you best do so. Ditto on a car rental or you might not get one. You'll definitely need one to get around and look at rental options.
You may have a difficult time finding a 6 month rental in Feb.
Most landlords who have long term rentals prefer a years lease or one that doesn't expire in the dead of off season
You can check Craig's List but beware of scam ads.

Best not to rent or send money sight unseen.
God luck.
