Ihop STX
Maybe it's just me......... but I find humor with this discussion of a fast food chain restaurant that serves processed food.
I directly work with, serve, and distribute to restaurants and hotels on island. I feel like I (we) do a great job.
I'm no longer on the Chef side of the business, so I can't speak to my competition's level of customer service.
A full service, all day family operation like IHOP is the most difficult style of restaurant to manage and turn a profit on. A lot of them in the states are folding, as people want bigger portions, free refills, and a smaller bill.

I think I jinxed myself because every visit after that became worst than the last. Dirty floors, a/c not working properly, waitresses with attitudes, the list goes on. I even tried calling in twice & was unsuccessful in placing an order because I was always greeted with "Thanks for calling Ihop please hold...". Great service should be consistent.
Regarding STX IHOP, do they have servers that don't serve certain people?
Or they at least open to whom their customers are?
Are they(customers) treated equally?
I hate the idea that STX IHOP has met the same fate as STT IHOP(at least in the service & food).
From a earlier post I made regarding STX IHOP:

Hate to keep asking, but is the state side team still there or not??
The STT Ihop had management issues as well.
One of the last times we were there, we were seated, given our menus, ordered coffee & then waited 45 minutes for our coffee!
We couldn`t understand why people who just sat down in the same area were getting their coffee & orders while we were still waiting.
We tried to get our servers attention several times.
Finally, we went to the manager, explained & she informed us the server we have refuses to serve white people!
I asked why were we seated in the no white people allowed section then!
She said they don`t have such a section, it`s only on her shift!
She said it was a mistake, we should have been seated in another section..OK whatever.

Over the weekend an acquaintance doing shift work went there for breakfast, dozed off while reading the paper and had his credit card stolen by a staff member who rang up charges on the card and took the cash from the till. :X
Now that's service above and beyond. My oh my!
Now this would be unacceptable, and I wonder if iHOP corporate knows about this. Any employee who would refuse to serve any customer based on their race should be fired immediately if not sooner. In fact, should never have been hired to start with. When we were in the fast food business in good ole conservative Ky., I had a very diverse employee group, and we served a diverse customer base as well. We welcomed anyone who wanted to come in and spend their money with us. Someone mentioned earlier that the manager or franchise owner occasionally viewed these boards. I hope they are reading this and do something about it!

stxdreamer, that Ihop folded(the one with the racist waitress), it was located in STT.
I went to that Ihop every weekend & watched the service & food steadily decline.
The official reason they closed was due to WAPA & Employees.
When Ihop in STX opened, I was skeptical that the same would happen there for the same reasons.
The service went way downhill after the stateside training team left.
I must point out, there were a couple of good waitstaff persons found that were local, very nice & professional<<too bad that was the exception, rather than the rule.
I don't believe WAPA was the issue(the owners said that) the same owners also have the Subway Franchise w/ the same WAPA.
Subway can get by on crappy employees as they don't need to serve you, they just build your sandwich with a chuoop!
Sure you have to beg for more than a 1/2 of a 1/2 of a tomato on your sandwich, & 3 pieces of cheese...<<that is BC they load their friends sandwiches up & make to make it up on YOU.(I see this @ Wendys all the time too)
Me, I wait for one of their "friends" to order, & I make sure I hear them tab out, what they paid, and i just say "I'll have want they just ordered & for the price they just paid"!

I have seen that at each and every fast food restaurant. There have been times when I would be waiting in a LONG line at McDonald's and one of the employee's friend walks thru the door and is served INSTANTLY. I have also noticed that employees don't stay employed for a long time at Ihop. Everytime I go there there's a new face. I'm pretty sure these new employees aren't being trained.
On September 26, 2010, we decided to eat out I hop and I must say that once again I was highly disappointed with the service. After waiting more than ten minutes at our table for the waitress, in which we had to ask another worker to go find her. I placed an order for a hot chocolate and 3 buttermilk pancakes seeing that in the past I’ve have to wait 4ever for my food that was gross, I’ll keep it simple. You know what at first when they open it wasn’t bad, services was pretty good, now it’s gone to the dogs! Well this time they took the cake because I waited about an hour before I could get my hot chocolate and it was too hot so I had to put it to sit for another 10 for it to cool off. Then my 3pancakes took another 40 minutes before I got it and by that time I was pissed, I got my bag n I left. In all the services from the waitress to our food were all horrible and I’m not sorry to say this but I will NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!
Greetings!
