Good morning! My fiance is moving to St. Croix in the next few weeks, I will follow a couple of months later. We are moving from SW Louisiana, I'm curious as to how strongly the humidity affects the island.

Here, the humidity makes it quite uncomfortable during the summer. I lived, and worked, in Afghanistan for two and a half years a while back and yes, the heat is brutal, however it was quite dry and nice, once you found shade.

Anyone? Bueller? ????

It is not as humid as New Orleans, imo. The breeze makes it more tolerable.

Last couple of days the humidity has been horrible, IMO. I'm from SW Arkansas where humidity is also high.

august and september are the hottest most humid months. i grew up where we got humid. this is worse. developed heat rashes , never had before. no air conditioning makes it worse. and we get a breeze most of the time.

We're from S.E.Texas (Beaumont/Port Arthur area) and believe me the humidity of St Croix is nothing compared to here. Like everyone says, it is humid and hot but nothing like our (and your) area! If I could get my hubby to move permanently I'd live there year round. Good luck with your move 🙂

I'll take the STX humidity and breezes over the worst days in NC where it feels like you can almost swim through the air. The AC certainly makes it more tolerable inside though, even when set to 80F.

If our department of tourism was smart, they would advertise the VI as a summer holiday destination to escape the unbearable heat and humidity of the mainland.

Its great here in the summer!
