Hull Bay--no more off-leash?!?!

So we went to Hull Bay this Sunday with out two pooches and were horrified to learn that doggies are no longer allowed off-leash due to an unpleasant incident.

Anyone know anything?

Specifically, when it happened and how long it is expected the cops will continue to enforce the off-leash reg.

Alternatively, any suggestions for other off-leash beaches?

TIA!!!

Onika,
Have 4wd? Neltjaberg Beach would work for you.

We do have 4WD, but the pooches and I get REAL nauseated on that road.

Thanks though!!!

And Platform which is next to Little Magens, but last time I went they were building a fence so I don't know if there is access still.

What is wrong with having a dog on a leash at a public beach? There are beaches that no dogs are even allowed, like Magens, so having the dog on a leash seems reasonable and respectful to me. In any case it would seem to be safer for children who may not be used to dogs and cleaner for everyone else.

Now if we could just get those pesky children on leashes, LOL 😉

dogs gotta run! If I had to keep my dog on a leash all the time, she would get fat and slovenly like me! Of course, there are other places to run besides a beach - and the dog does not seem to care where she runs, but I LIKE hanging on a beach while she runs... fortunately, my pooch is only 13 pounds and not too scary to kids.

Onika, do you know yet what the "unpleasant incident" was?

hi from southwest florida, there are only a couple beaches i can get my mutt to by boat here. i have always used the beach for the mutt to run and have fun but the biggest advantage is salt water is all i have to use for flee and tick control, works great, but don't forget the heart worm pills.
