It took me 18 minutes to license my truck this afternoon, from the time I hit the parking lot to when I walked out the door with my paperwork and sticker.
Been here 4 years and not going anywhere. you just get used to what island life brings, from shopping, to daily dealings and dealing with government. Registered our boat yesterday with DPNR was in and out quickly. Nice folks. In my experience the low level government employees (not an insult) are very nice, it's the ones with a title that can be difficult and arrogant.
Sure I like to piss and moan like everyone else, but, I love the chaos and disorganization of the GVI. It results in lower fees and taxes and less intrusion into our lives.
I pity those living on the mainland with all their heavy handed law enforcement, photo radar/red light cameras and traffic stops, taxes on everything and the like.
Here, I can drive around town with a beer in hand without a care in the world.
Sigh....everyone should be this lucky.
A beautiful portrait of complacency.
I can't really even complain about WAPA anymore since we went solar. All that's left is to just enjoy, I suppose.
