How do you order from Pet Food Direct

We just ordered our prescription cat food. Says it will arrive Tuesday. We put in our TuTu address with our zip and a WI state. We will see if it works and let you know ASAP. Anyone else have luck doing this? We're in a tight spot and need this specific food. I brought a bag with us and so we are giod for now...worst case, we will USPS from family in the states but hoping this works.

I recently ordered from them for the first time. I put in VA for the state code. I ordered two bags of food, 36lbs each, on auto ship (extra discount applies 🙂 ) and they arrived within a week! And I noted that when they arrived the state code on the shipping label was VI, so they correct it at some point before it shipped. I have my food set up to ship every two months, and it's only been a few weeks, so can't really tell you how smoothly that will work. I am curious to see if they switch from Priority to Parcel Post on the next order. Maybe someone else can tell us how it worked for them.

How much do you save buying dog food and having it mailed in? Curious.

Well, I only buy organic, human grade food which they just don't sell it here on island. For my brand, it costs the about same (maybe $5 more) as it would if I bought it in the States at a store. I prefer feeding them higher-quality food because they don't eat as much (more nutrients, less fillers) which results in less poop to pick up. Also, it is better for them. Alpo and most of the commercial stuff (even beneful and pedigree) sold at Kmart is really crap. Lots of fillers, corn, wheat, soy products, additives, not a lot of high-quality protein.

Well, I have a double problem ordering from them. I called them up and spoke with the customer service person who verified that they do not ship to the VI's anymore. The second issue is that I was going to order some Science Diet Rx food which requires a vet prescription. As soon as they see that VI address, I know that they will nix it before it even gets sent out. Anyone tried else order Rx food from them? Thanks.

By the way, I've been having very good luck ordering regular Science Diet from Petco. No shipping issues, free shipping and it gets here in fairly short order. When I compare the price I pay for Petco vs. buying on island, it's absolutely shocking how much more expensive it is here!

STXer yes we're trying to order RX food. They took the $ from our account today so I hope that means were on track to get it. Worse case is I will have to have someone from the states send it to us. It's the only food we can feed our cats.
