How do you crack the telephone code?

When looking at job or apartment listings, often only a telephone number is listed. Can one tell from the phone number where the job or apartment is, STT, STJ or STC? Do certain prefixes denote certain islands. If there is a code, can someone provide the key? Thanks.

Don't know if it works for the Islands but, if you go to Google and type in the phone number, you will get an address. It's the reverse of a phone book. If the number is listed, any information that is published in the phone book will appear. Good luck.

Something I have learned - If the phone number begins with 774,775,776 it is in St. Thomas. If it begins with 778 and above it is in St. Croix. Also, 714 is in St. Thomas

There are phones in St. Thomas that have the 693 exchange as well as the 779!
St. Croix has 772, 773, 712,713, 778, 692.
St. John has 776 and 693 and 779. When you see a number that has a 776-6XXX, that is St. John.
St. Thomas has the 776 exchange as well. Also 774, 775, 777, 714, 715. It's pretty much a crap shoot to figure between STT and STJ s they are now giving the same numbers for both islands. STX so far, has not infiltrated STT and STJ.
Ronnie
PS. There are also the cell numbers, not island specific.
690,513,514,473,474,771,998,787.
