When are you going to bring us into the 21st century with U/D speeds?

I even had to cancel out speed test due to long download times!

Can't you find it in your heart to provide us with decent speeds?

Yah Ta Hey!!!!

Send an email to the company, they are very responsive! And they do have monitoring software running but they can't watch over every connection.

BBVI needs to up the speed for low tier service from 2 Mbps to 5.

What we are getting is is NOT broadband.

U.S. regulators on Thursday raised the standard for high-speed Internet, voting that only connections with download speeds of 25 megabits per second or faster will qualify as broadband. The Federal Communications Commission's previous definition of broadband was a download speed of at least 4 Mbps.Jan 29, 2015

I agree.
We (BBVI) are working on it.
Soon come!

If you are seeing poor speeds, please call the office and ask them to take a look.
STT = 774-5780
STX = 719-2943
STJ = flag down Tory in his black FJ cruiser

So why are speeds so slow? Is it a case of be careful what you recommend on the Internet because the business, especially small businesses in tiny communities such as ours, may not be able to handle much increased traffic?

I try to support the ones that aren't often recommended so competitors can survive.

Posting service complaints on a forum instead of calling the supplier directly is akin to consulting Mattel's Magic 8-Ball. 😀

Apologies to all for my ranting and raving. Past experiences with customer service have left a bad taste (read, foul words) in my mouth. Especially when dealing with those reps living in foreign lands. I still believe BBVI's performance is better than the alternatives.

I'll try to keep my frustrations on hold in the future.

Will contact BBVI.

And I'm not bending over anytime soon...

Just tested .76Mbps DL, .75Mbps UL on STX. This is through WIFI and WIFI router but that shouldn't make much difference. Nothing else going on the WIFI router. This is with shared receiver equipment in the condo building but only 7 units and no more than 2-3 occupied. But I'm not noticing performance issues, even with VPN into remote servers.. Still don't see how this beats the Innovative TV/BB bundle price and service.

Innovative $160 total/month bundle for landline telephone, cable expanded package (HBO and SHO) and basic internet. 3.05DL, 0.40UL, a very occasional glitch and otherwise no problem with system or service.

Yes they certainly do. A couple of months back I was having some dropping issues and emailed them - serviceman called me back next day and gave me his cell # to call any time day or night when it next happened as all tests indicated it was fine. Couple of hours later another serviceman called, told him thanks but I was being taken care of. No ;problems since then. Never had a problem with response.
