Something is better than nothing,.....depending on what that something turns out to be,....I think,...maybe,.......perhaps,......time will tell.
The VI Consortium is not the most reliable source, so I'm not paying this story any attention until I hear it from, well, Hovensa. They would probably be the most reliable source.
Every time the consortium spreads unsubstantiated "news" around it's just slurped right up as fast as The Daily Smear's headline of, "Giant Sprout Eats Backyard Gardener" sells out supplies in the street vendor's newsstand.
Did they ever find the remains of the garderner?
Did they kill the plant or just fence off the yard?

No, darn thing just gobbled him right up, hopped the garden fence and bounced off, never to be seen again. The gardener's wife subsequently had the whole yard paved over in case the sprout had any relatives down there.

Must be a Monsanto GMO sprout
They called Terminix to kill it but since DPNR has forbidden the use of Methyl Bromide the sprout appears to be cracking through the concrete.
My guess is that China want's the storage.
They just loaned Venezuela another 5 billion and they need to keep all that oil payoff somewhere.
You can't store crude in the Hovensa tanks, only processed products.
Long term crude storage requires heated tanks. Hovensa crude was
in and out so fast that heated tanks were not needed.

That's a very enlightening fact I was unaware of. Makes perfect sense now, heavy crude requires heated storage - or as Mr. Simpson would say, Doh!
I received an email earlier today from a realtor in STX.
Here is a quote from her letter.
"HOVENSA PLANS TO SELL ITS DOCKS AND STORAGE TERMINALS according to several news sources, a sale could take place within 30 days and hopefully have workers in place by August! Any creation of jobs is wonderful and will stimulate the overall island economy. There are no plans to restart the Refinery portion of the property. The Governor and Senators are expected to discuss the sale within days."
True or not, I have no clue but doubt she would include without a reliable source.
Most of the business owners I know have been aware of this probability for a few weeks now.
