House Hunters International

Hi, Is it a re-run? I saw the HHI STX a while ago (I even recorded it to show my wife). If so, have you found a house yet?

Am or pm?? Hmmm I wonder why it was on HH International.

The US Virgin Islands is considered by the airlines, etc to be an international destination; hence any filming done here or on STT or STJ for HH goes under their international show name. There were 2 shows that aired several months ago. One was filmed here on STX and the other one was on STJ. But the newest one filmed on STX was done at Gentle Winds Condo's and a couple other properties last fall. Perhaps this one is the show according to Pirategirl will air 4/7/10 @10:30pm.

Actually we are sort of Intl on the airlines. For purposes of upgrades/lounge access we are domestic. For some other things we are international. We are definitely a "grey area" when it comes to domestic vs international on all fronts!

Here is a link to the show.....it is not a re-run, first time the show will air. We filmed in August, and we did buy a place. We love it and are very excited to own on St. Croix.:D

I believe the original St. Croix househunters show is being replayed again also in April, I keep on missing that one its so frustrating because it seems I've seen the other location a number of times.

So excited for another HHI STX! Trying very hard to sway my wife into testing the "relocation waters." The show I saw was the first I'm aware of that didn't end with the house hunters buying a place.

For those of you who saw the first HH several months ago where they DIDN'T buy (so very frustrating), you may be interested to know that the house is still for sale. I stumbled across it on Calabash's site a few days ago. The price has been reduced, but I don't think it's down $90K that he low-balled them! The MLS number is 09-1140 ( http://www.calabashrealtors.com/Slide%20Shows/148%20Cotton%20Valley/148cottonvalleyfullpage.html), if anyone wants to look. 😀

the tv said it was going to air wednesday. it could be a repeat? i will find out wednesday. if i can stay awake that late.

Yup, April 2nd was the older episode, when no sale was made. Looking forward to see which place PirateGirl buys this wednesday night (tomorrow!). I think they showed the view of the Contessa's castle from the Divi, in the previews.

I liked all three places and enjoyed being able to see the floor plans. (WHAT was with that wapa box!?) St Croix looked green and beautiful. Enjoy your little piece of paradise! 😎

Yes, good show. I really couldn't tell where exactly these places were:
- the first place was above Christiansted. What was the name of the condos?
- was the 2nd place at Cheney?
- was the third at Carambola golf course?

The WAPA box was a generator transfer switch. Definitely could have been relocated outside or replaced with a smaller one.
I was surprised by the Realtor's answer. That and her answer at Schooner Bay the burglar bars were for hurricane protection. LOL

Not 100% but I think the Carambola condo was a Saman. There are 3 different associations at Carambola.

We got a giggle out of the 'hurricane protection',too. Not long ago, on another House Hunters International they were down in Central America showing a couple who were looking at a condo that had bars on the patio area and windows. The husband asked what the point of the bars were and the realtor paused for a couple of beats then also said,'' Oh that's for when hurricanes come by. Just for protection during hurricanes...." *-) This particular condo was in a populated area. The condos she showed them that were in more secluded beach front areas didn't have bars. Would have made me go hmmmmm....;)
