The cheapest place I found was $60 a night for a double room. All I want is just a single bed, I don't care if it is in a hostel or dorm. I was hoping for a price range that didn't go over $30 a night, I know that is cheap, but there are places that cheaper almost anywhere else, I don't know why I can't find any in the USVI.

Hello Ian,

I realize that in the mainland you can find motels and hotels... for a range of prices. And in Europe there are hostels that offer cheap sleeping, and in Central America you can find cheap places. However the USVI is different.... we don't have any road trip folks, so no inexpensive road side places, there is not huge market of young college travelers so no hostels... the accomodations are resorts and hotels and a few bed and breakfast. Even camping on St. John, USVI is not less then $30. The USVI are a fairly high price vacation spot and the accomodations reflect this. There are a few that are less though.

The least expensive I found in the rate sheet for accomdations on St. Croix was $65 at Kronegade Inn at www.kronegadeinn.com perhaps you can try there are see if they have any less.
