It's no longer there. Golden Age Ranch is, I think, the only stable now.

There used to be a stable on route to Magens Bay.
Behind by Dairy.
Did that close too?
The Bournes used to have the riding stable on Lemon tree road.
Golden Age Ranch is in Smith Bay.

I only knew about Wintberg because I live across from Lemontree Road. Used to see horses on the trail from my house. It hasn't been used in years, and I vaguely remember reading years ago about them closing.

Golden Age gets kudos from everybody, it seems. There are TripAdvisor reviews and my animal friends comments.

The horse facility at the STT Dairy closed years ago. Whether the Wintberg property is still used for private stabling I don't know. You could contact David Bornn to ask. He's listed in the 'phone book at 340-774-3344. You can contact Golden Age via Facebook.

There is nothing but machinery tearing apart the old dairy at this time. They did stable some horses there until the construction took place. The new owner of the property paid to have the horses relocated to states I was told by construction foreman

I'm glad they closed the stable in Wintberg.
It was overcrowded and a filthy mudhole when it rained. It seemed cruel to me.

Interesting. It was a very nice well-kept stable for many, many years. I was a professional horsewoman for several years and occasional mud after heavy rains doesn't pose "cruelty" to horses. 😀

I think if that place was the best available to board a horse, to forgo having one here is the best option. A gut runs right through the center of it were it flowed through a huge pile of manure on its way to the ocean. So of course the horses were covered in flies a lot of the time.
