Hoping to Relocate
My family and I currently live in the Florida Keys, but we're planning on leaving the area and St. Thomas has been mentioned - frequently - by my husband as his destination of choice is one of our options. I'm already used to the unique challenges of island life (only store is KMart, 50-mile drive to the dentist, high cost of living, tourists), but I'm curious about what transplanted residents miss most about the mainland. Here in the Keys, we at least have bridges back to the mainland, but what's it like being completely isolated? What are some of the things you wish you'd done or planned for? I appreciate any stories you have to tell and insights you're willing to share.
LostConch, take a look at the "New to Message Board" in the top area of Relocation Page. A lot of great information that will definitely help direct the most expeditious method of bringing you up to speed on STT (and then some).
