Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris
I'll be looking for a new Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris later this year. Are they available on STT?
I know the Yaris is as a friend has one she got here.
I have a friend who has a Fit from here.
I looked at the Honda Fit a month or so ago at Community Motors - they had some in stock and more on order - for sure, test drive it to your house and any other place you commonly travel to to assess the viability - also consider the weight of any passengers and goods you may want to commonly carry since on the test drive you are usually carrying very little.
We rented a Yaris several months ago. It was a nice little car, but seemed to struggle on the hills--always made it, but struggled. By all means test drive on some of the steeper hills on STT to see if it will work for you. Gas mileage was great and because it is a smaller car, it is easy to park--always an issue. Good luck in your search.
I would look a step up like a civic or camary, both are available in hybrid but will give you a little more power.
Thanks, all! Good advice.
I drove a Yaris all over STT in February with no problems, but you're right about driving light. I was always alone. I went up some really steep hills with ease. Is the Fit about the same on hills?
I like the idea of a really small car. I previously owned VW beetles and Fiat 124 Sport Spider. I don't suppose one can get a Niva in VI?
I'll do some serious test driving before buying, but it's good to know these cars are available.
It seems you like small light cars(good thing as gas prices are climbing again, though it will go down MUCH latter on).
with daimler chrysler in trouble, maybe a smart car from the states??
The yaris hatchback 2 door seemed OK(I`ve rented many in StX), just there was this lag when you stomp on the gas though, i guess you won`t be treating your own car like a rental, right?
I rented a kia Spectra in Florida, as a former kia owner, i was impressed with it (my sportage was garbage).
Though i wonder what it would be like in the long term...
