home search
Are there any good web site to search for homes/apartments/condos for rent? The classified section of this page is not super helpful.
Thanks!
The short answer is no. You pretty much have to be on island to find permanent lodging.
Try this one. WWW.TRISHRHODES.COM / MLS.HTM . It is all lower case,I just used caps because for the larger text. She has commercial and residential listings for rent. If you find one any better let me know. Happy hunting.
We ended up with a 3-week "vacation" rental while looking for a more permanent place. We used agents, called numbers on road-side signs, responded to newspaper ads, and ended up getting our place on Craigslist! it doesn't happen often here but - it worked for us.
We also had a bad experience with an agent because we didn't use her - told her two days later, and when she saw my husband at the grocery store she Berated him for not tell her sooner, not going with her, etc.
beachbound,
If you post on the classified what you are looking for, you will get lots of responses.

Anything else that can help either a Realtor, or an individual with rentals (moi:-)) know what will work for you. If you are looking at St. Croix, my website is http://www.virginislandsrentals.com
We offer long term or short term, if you want to get to know the island and decide for yourself where you want to be. Depending on the apartment, we offer one month minimum rentals. Lots of info on the site, or feel free to PM me or email casita37@hotmail.com.
If you are looking at St. Thomas, the Island Trader is the best. http://www.vidailynews.com . Once on the Daily News site, look for Island Trader ads.
