Home depot STX
Did they ever build a Home depot on STX? If not is Gallows Bay still the place to buy tools??
As regards a Home Depot on STX it is still a work in progress. They are still in the stages of grading and dong the "groundwork" for building foundations, etc. No actual building has been done yet. As I understand it this large area just north of Hovensa along the Melvin Evans Highway that has been cleared and graded, will include other stores in addition to a Home Depot. It's anyones guess when the Home Depot will be completed. My guess is sometime within the next 2 years given the snails pace of their progress so far.
My suggestion is if you want to buy tools, buy them in the states & have them shipped here. There are Home Depots on Puerto Rico and St Thomas and shipping them over to STX, will still save you money vs purchasing at Gallows Bay or Caribe Do-It Center. Cost U Less (like a Sams Club store) here on STX has some tools and so does The Tool Box

Thanks for the update. i will ship my DeWalts down I guess.
The K-Mart/Sears appliance annex at Sunny Isle has a very complete selection of Craftsman tools.

I have bought most of my tools at Gallows Bay Hardware and a few at Gannett, Kmart, and Budget Marine. I bought a kit of tools on line from Defender.
There is work being done at the new Home Depot site, but I estimate another year before opening.
Hi Edward,
Can you try and help me out, I have a question . Would you say that there is construction work to be had there on stx?
I am thinking of moving there and I am a subcontractor in Fla and girlfriend wants me to move down . Since the Home Depot is not
built yet I was trying to gauge the vibe. Thanks Eric
I see construction projects all over the island. When you get here, you might drive around, stop at a site, and say, "Good morning!" Start a conversation.
Some materials are available at the DIY at Sunny Isle, Gallows Bay Hardware, and Gannet Hardware in Gallows Bay. Again, start a conversation with the folks at those places. Amazing what one can learn in those informal conversations. 🙂
