Holiday?????

Nope....tomorrow most likely....

I heard that Gov't workers have today, Friday and Monday off.

Well I guess the best way to make sure is to call. They didn't look closed when I went to work today. Haven't been to the bank yet today and that's usually the test. I'm still in shock that the bank was open on transfer day when all the govt offices where closed.

The gov offices last day was Wed.
And they are either off until Monday or have Monday off too (Easter second day)
Ahhhhhhh to have a Gov. Job!

lol...it I had a local govt job I go bannas. To much BS to deal with on a constant daily, hourly, basis. I just want to get my work done and leave. Not make 20 minutes of work last 8 hours. 🙂

Thursday, Friday, and Monday are all local holidays. Schools and Government are closed. Banks open Thursday and Monday.

Thanks, I was going to go to IRB and drop off my taxes. I called. They're closed.

Even WAPA is closed today - Easter & Easter 2nd Day........

Now I understand why my WAPA bills were due on the 8th instead of the usual 11th or 12th. Seems they will be closed until the 14th (?).

The VI government always closes for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Monday.

The federal government only gets 10 holidays per year and none are at Easter, how many does the VI government get?

Answer: 24 plus all of the administrative days they get every year for carnival, xmas etc.
Not to be outdone, the usps and other federal offices frequently close for VI holidays, they call them maintenance days.
I'm surprised they don't get 5 weeks of vacation per year, lets add that to the constitution. Pretty soon we'll be just like Denmark, a socialist country.

The federal govt only gets 10 holidays a year????....No I'm sorry but you're way off base. Today is what my husband calls Federal Friday, because he is off tomorrow. He gets all the major holidays on the calender plus he gets any holiday puerto rico celebrates. He has plenty of days off.

Now granted the first ten years of my husband career he did work holidays but he was very nicely paid to work them. Now he's further up the ladder and has a lotta extra time off and holidays but my honey do list seems to get longer 😉 The only feds I can think of that work holidays in the usvi are cbp, the airport never closes and all that. But I might be forgetting someone.

Never understood the allure of camping. Add the sand, critters & saltwater in and I'm out. I like a good bonfire and spending the day at the beach but sleeping there sounds awful. If there's no bathroom I'm not interested.

I always told my friends that tried to get me to go camping that my idea of "roughing it" was the Holiday Inn!

Family camping at Easter on STX goes back several generations. A friend who grew up here remembers camping at Davis Bay before Carambola was built. We camped with the kids when they were small and I always enjoyed it. I do agree that, at my age, a hotel is more my speed.

So I say go for it. Besides, if you're at the beach during Easter week, sometimes people offer you food! yum!

They go all out now days. Last year someone brought one of those huge projectors and it was movie night at the beach. I still went home for the night. 🙂

So I am guessing the Post Office is closed today and Monday? Great - right before April 15.

The US post office is not a VI government office and is often open when the VI government is closed. Call and ask about Easter Monday.

Actually post office was only closed for good friday. They are open today (Saturday 4/11) until noon because I just went and mailed a package and they will be open Monday as well.

So...the Motor Vehicle office in St. Croix is closed tomorrow because there is a parade in St. Thomas? govmint jobs are rough.
