High Season Over?
Looking at the ships in port for May clearly indicates to me that we have indeed passed from high season....to....something less busy...but still not the slowest we'll get, correct?
Hello Paul,
What did you think of your first Carnival? I was sure you would have something to report. I know it was a rainy parade day but what did you think?
As far as ship schedule goes... Dec through Mar almost always has at least one ship in port and up to 7 or 8 ships. In April you might have a few days with no ships, May a few more no ship days... then June, July, August, September there will be quite a number of ship-less days. It will pick up again in late October, early November. The slowest is usually Aug, Sept.

Carnival - the adult parade in particular? Well, I'm still thinking about it. Didn't want to just blast out a "report" or "perspective" from a new comers pov without knowing a few more facts. I found some of them in the Carnival booklet which I was given yesterday. I'm sorry I had not seen it sooner as it gave me a better perspective on the "whys?" to many of the things I had wondered about.
Next year I know for a fact that I will come much later in the day to see the later part of the adult parade - rather than the beginning.
Several shots will appear on my photo website soon.
I was actually interviewed briefly by one of the radio stations announcer types as they were set up directly in front of my spot next to the wall at the Cardow end of the square in front of the Post Office.
Hello Paul,
I gather from your limited report that you got there right on time and as it started late and the beginning doesn't have the really large groups but is more of pagentry you were a bit dissappointed. and the rain maybe?? In any case what questions about the parade do you have or did you have I would be interested in what you thought of it; so go ahead and post. Did you attend the food fair or any of the other events?
