It has been the required period of mourning for our first lost dream. On to the next of course. It's quite mysterious the way God works. On the 8th of August, Island Rat and I decided not to discuss St. Croix until after the holidays. On the 8th of January, there we sat discussing a move to St. Croix again. Things have worked out in peculiar ways that are still pointing us in the direction of an island lifestyle. Everyone we know believes in our dreams. Funny that for Christmas our family and friends all gave us island gifts, from waterproof cards to beachtowels and island music, tikis, and life preservers. We're either crazy or my family is!
I spent the morning and afternoon reading through the message board since August. Thresa and Island Chris, wonderful to hear your adjusting well. Linda J and Ric, still dispensing wise words to all of us. RockportJohn, you made it as well. How is everything going? FOG, I still love to read the adventures of your hikes. Where is my good buddy HipCrip. I also pray she is well. Ronnie, we're still here and just as sure about our business venture as before. I think right now it is adjusting to the fear. We are so safe and comfortable financially, that putting everything on the line is mindboggling. Hi Island Paul and Dominic (I loved my geology courses too) and everyone else.
I'll keep it brief and just say that, Its good to be back and letting myself believe again. Hope and pray you are all well and happy.

How strange... I was just thinking about you today! No kidding. Some time back, I had sent Hipcrip an email because she hadn't been on the board for a while but didn't get a reply. Anyone on St. Croix heard from her lately... Linda J. maybe? I also hope she is doing well.
Eve good to have you back and I hope that 2005 brings the fulfillment of your island business dreams! All the best.

It is good to hear from you again. I too tried to email HipCrip with no reply. I pray she pops back on the board again soon. Chris and I have had our ups and downs. Now with a whole six months behind us, we are starting to adjust and find our happy place. Can't wait to see how it goes this year especially hurricane season. 😉 We can't wait to see you and Island Rat living happily on St. Croix. I am hoping to visit there soon and we will need a place to stay...;-) Best of luck on all your endevors! Look forward to hearing your plans.

Eve, good to hear from you. Change is very hard...especially when we are a little older and are making such a drastic change. It has taken me a little more than a year to begin to get enough things going on that I have begun to really imagine that I could have a life here (as much as anywhere else for that matter) - but more water needs to wash up and out of my little oceanfront yard before I can really pronounce myself settled....not all the pieces are in place.
