Hello everybody, I have been reading alot of the posts, and have been impressed by the many responses about the USVI. It has been very
eye-opening, honest and informative.
My wife and I currently live in Va. and are looking at moving out of state in the coming years. We were thinking of Arizona, since she has family out there, but the discussion of St. Croix came up the other day. A few years ago she visited St. Croix while on a cruise with friends, and absolutely loved it. I thought it would be a good idea to do some research on it, and here I am!
My first Island experiance was when we went on our honeymoon last year, to Jamaica. It started out a little rocky at first, when we arrived at Richmond Airport and realized that we needed passports/birth cert. to leave (lol a tad embarrising to say the least) but we made it out there, and had a very good (and humorous time). Leaving the island as airport security went through all (and i mean ALL) of our luggage in front of a line of those who were next to get their laundry aired to the public, I knew we were going to miss it. And miss it we do, thats why we have been thinkning of taking a look at St. Croix. So far, this site, and the forums have been so great in helping us find the information we need. We are very appreciative of the many honest and open opinions that you all have expressed! Thank you all so much for your input, it has helped us tremendously just in these past couple of days of searching.

Hello, Bryosphere, from all the Crucian transplants! Take a second honeymoon to our island - I feel sure you will love what you see and the people you will meet...good luck...if you can't find something by using the search feature, the good folks of the board will generally be able to point you in the right direction!

Hi There! My husband and I live in Southern Md. We too are planning on moving permanently in the next couple of years. We took a pre move visit twice and fell in love with St. Croix. We bought a condo in December and came for a month in March. Come down and see for yourself.

Thanks! There is so much to learn. My biggest task right now is to figure out if it is a possibility. Being that we are still young, in our early to mid 20s, what we will do for employment is our main question. there seems to be a variety of jobs availible.
While I have no degree, my wife has almost gotten her associates. But I do have alot of experiance in interior/exterior painting, and some in fence building. We both have a fair amount of experiance in Retail management. Those were some things that seemed would be in some demand in STX... hopefully. 🙂 I can't wait to visit out there, we are gonna have to plan a trip to hopefully next year!
