Heavy rain tonight, inclement weather all week
ST. CROIX TO EXPERIENCE MORE HEAVY RAIN TONIGHT; INCLEMENT WEATHER TO LAST THROUGH SATURDAY
More showers and thundershowers are expected across St. Croix tonight with the potential for up to additional one to three inches of rain. A flash flood warning is in effect for St. Croix and a flash flood watch is posted for the Virgin Islands.
While the rainfall tonight on St. Thomas and St. John will be somewhat less when compared to St. Croix, the northern Virgin Islands is forecast to experience significant rainfall activity on Thursday. The rainfall has the potential of leaving two to four inches of rain across St. Thomas and St. John tomorrow. A break in the inclement weather is not expected before Saturday.
With southerly winds prevailing, rough marine conditions will exist with winds up to 30 knots and seas on the order of eight feet.
Stay tuned to local media outlets for updates. An announcement will be made by the governor's office at about 6 a.m. Thursday as regards the status of public schools and government operations.
