My wife and i are both healthcare professionals. She is a respitory therapist and i am an rn. We have been looking into relocating to the usvi. I just became aware of this forum and joined today looking for any help or suggestions. We are planning to do this in 3-5 yrs so there is no rush. Does anyone work in the healthcare industry that could give us an idea of what its like there??

Nick: Here is the website for Schneider Regional: https://www.srmedicalcenter.org/

Three to five years is quite a way off. I would recommend that you read the Source, an on line paper, take a few trips to the territory and speak to folks face to face. Both RT and nursing are sorely needed.

Federal Funds are supposedly available for the construction of a new hospital on STX (our present one is only partially open since damaged by hurricane Maria).

I would guess the new hospital will take at least five years to build. Probably more since our local government has its fingers in it.

You may want to read through the Governor's State of the Territory Address specifically the section on healthcare for more future plans.
