Hammock?
This group has always helped me out a lot, so this may seem silly, I"m trying to find a place to get a nice hammock. Lots of tourism pics of hammocks, but I haven't been able to find one yet. Any locals have recommendations?
Thanks again!!
Order online.
I've gotten two awesome high quality ones (mainland) from Hayneedle. Not sure if they deliver to USVI but I do think they sell on Amazon.
Try here: Classic and great quality. The synthetic rope feels like cotton and holds up much better.

Home depot has some. In STT cash and carry is great for the cheaper fabric ones. Ours has lasted three years, granted its only been hung in trees at the beaches. The one we have outside permanently is sun faded but still strong. Also fabric and was from hole depot STX.
I got mine at plaza extra over 10 years ago
Do you suggest a place online? I had been working with Amazon for several weeks to verify if they would ship to me. They will not, or, rather, no one knows. No matter how many people I speak with, my orders never ship even with international shipping.
I'm hoping there is a better solution (right now I'm ordering to my parents and they are shipping things down!)
Thanks!
will, individual amazon sellers might not ship here. some do and some dont. just like etsy or ebay. it just depends on the sellers shipping policy
Yeah I think you have to look for items marked as "fulfillment by Amazon".
I saw some at a grocery store the other day on one of those aisle with hardware. It might have been Cost U less or Pueblo. I specifically remember seeing them in small boxes on a lower shelf, but not sure where it was.

Some Amazon marketplace sellers will ship to VI and some not. Put the item in your cart and start the checkout process with the VI address. It will tell you whether or not it will ship.
I ordered several items from various marketplace sellers recently, one shipped from China directly to VI.
Ill usually go to the link that shows by various sellers and add like 8-10 to the cart and then proceed to checkout and see which will ship here. Then its a matter of choosing the cheapest total.
For amazon - left side little box that says "Global Eligible". Check it and everything that show up in your search will ship here. It will save you a LOT of time.
I've been REALLY lucky lately and was able to call and get my shipping free with prime but thats usually not the case. The key I think is to call right away and just tell them you were charged shipping on a prime order. Last 4 orders I placed they reversed the shipping - and it wasn't cheap! I think its the luck of the draw.
I think its the luck of the draw.
That's what I was going to say. I contacted them today regarding one order that they haven't shipped yet. Then when they asked if they could help with anything else I asked about a few other items that listed an expected delivery date week after next as I was concerned I needed them no later. They said to just place the order with expedited shipping and they would remove the total shipping charge. So I put in the order right then and they pulled the shipping off right away.
I'll have to remember to use that Global box. Will it filter out anything that would still ship to VI?
