Hammock STT

Having no luck locally or online replacing my hammock... Any suggestions? Getting a lot of "we used to carry them, there used to be a store, no shipping to that location..." Starting to feel like the only slug in the VI.[/quote

Find that hard to believe. There are hammocks in all shapes and sizes you can easily find online! Have you tried simply googling "hammocks"? Tried "hammocks eBay?" Some retailers/sellers still won't ship to a US Protectorate or Territory but also some of them don't realize that the USPS cost is the same as shipping to the contiguous states and isn't "International" and will back down if you point this out.

 

Home Depot carries them, you should be able to order one from them if their not in stock.

Thanks for the offer AandA, my back-up was to double ship but didn't want to wait the extra time. Home Depot won't ship here, VI is not on their drop down menu. Website says STT store has 12 in stock, 3 employees (in person and on phone) say they don't have any. Looked literally hours last night, all ship UPS or FedX, have had at least 20 in my cart from every website imaginable until I get to the dreaded zip code question. Found one today that will ship here, had to go with a woven one without wooden spreader bars, that may have been the issue. There's worst time wasting than what I just went thru (like what I will do from my new hammock in 5-7 days).

I was standing in the dreaded TSA line at the airport in Puerto Rico the other day behind a guy carrying a hammock as carry-on. Because the wooden spreader bars were considered a possible weapon, he was given the choice of removing the wooden bars or disposing of the hammock. I moved on before I found out the final result.

IDK about HD but at OfficeMx if you go in, you can order directly from the registers and pay for it. It gets shipped out from the warehouse and put on the next truck for delivery to the store. Pick up in store.

Office max let's you order to your local store, but then it won't ship here. 🙂 I had fun waiting 2 mo before somebody finally told me their ship-to-store system didn't work.
I've asked store managers to order specific things though. often they will if its a product that their website says they carry.

Come over to St John - Paradise Lumber has them on display - they might be samples and then they order but last time I was in there there were probably 10 choices of fabric as well as the "rope" type 🙂
