Very sad for all the employees right before Christmas.

Definitely the worst part, they employed a LOT of people... from what I saw it looks like a total loss.

Tragic.
Hope all the firefighters are wearing respirators to protect them from the toxic fumes.

Yikes! Very sad. We were just there last week for new tires. Have always had nothing but fast, friendly and efficient service. I feel bad for the employees.

the employees will at least be able to get unemployment. but still might be out of a job from H & H forever. i was also curious about the toxic fumes not just for the FF but for the residents who live nearby, and of course any vehicles that are now gone

This is not the first fire that HH has had. They'll be back I'm sure.

Virgin Islands Department of Education

IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE:

ST. CROIX, USVI - Smoke accumulation from the overnight fire that destroyed HH Tire & Battery on St. Croix has adversely affected the air quality of a number of schools westward of the business.
The following schools have announced immediate dismissals on Monday, November 28:

• Ricardo Richards Elementary School
• Alfredo Andrews Elementary School
• John H. Woodson Jr. High School
• Elena Christian Jr. High School
• St. Croix Central High School
• St. Croix Educational Complex

Students are being fed lunch and school buses will arrive at campuses between 11-11:30 a.m. to transport students to their regular drop-off locations. However, parents who are able to may begin signing students out immediately.

We will issue an update on the status of schools later today.

Sad for the employees for sure. For those looking for tires I highly recommend VIgo. It's past the peters rest dump thing, on the right near the fast food place. Yam yams 2? Those guys are amazing and much cheaper for same tire than HH and in and out in 20 min.

These guys mean business!

There must have been 30 cars at their new location when we passed by on our way to the beach on Thursday.

Fastest paint job i've ever seen on this island!
