Why was he disgraced?

He was "allowed" or face court martial. Conservatives cling to any person of color as proof they aren't still living in the mid 20th century. This shouldn't be about politics. Allen West IS both a disgraced colonel and one term congressman. Those are facts. You should go back and read my take on guns. Have a nice night.

I lived in FL, Mr West is only a one term congressman due to redistricting. He would have won again if it wasn't for that. He also fought to have the votes recounted as many districts had a larger voter turnout than registered voters. The recounts became a circus, the persons in charge of certifying votes didn't stay to count, showed up late & then before the count was even finished they refused to count more & just let time run out thus the votes could not be verified. There are numerous news articles to back this as fact should you doubt a person who actually lived in FL at the time.
So a republican can only support a person of color as a means only to prove how a racist bigot is not racist, however a democrat can support a person of color ie Mr Obama & they become the poster child for diversity, understanding & healing of all things racial.....WOW!
Just like "all republicans are evil white rich devils"............Geeze Hilary better watch her mega millions, she could be a republican in a bad pant suit!!!! *GASP - THE HORROR!*

Anyone interested in doing the same thing here? I would join in the lawsuit. Individuals have a right to defend themselves. The VI has a murder rate twice that of St Louis, the worst location in the US. It has a murder rate 10 times the national average.

Something needs to change. Right now only criminals have guns, law abiding citizens have a right to own a gun without having to justify themselves to government. So says the SCOTUS.

His piece was "opinion". It has to play out in courts. Sorry I do not have much respect for torturers. That recount didn't work out so well for him? Florida and their recounts.. Another reason Patton Oswalt is spot on when he says the only reason to visit Florida is to identify your dead daughter's body. Now, again, politics aside I'm all for more CCW permits in the VI.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem Sparty? Allen West lost due to REDISTRICTING. Also More votes were cast than there were registered voters, I know it seems impossible right, why would anyone want a count verification? The recount didn't work due to the failure of the those in control NOT West and absolutely nothing to do with the state itself. Several states had the same issues, Allen West chose to fight it in his state, which just happened to be FL.

Is this another one of those threads where everyone thinks if they write something thoughtful that supports their own opinion, that someone on the other side of the argument will just change their mind and the world will be perfect?

It's gotten to the personal attacks already too. Guns, religion and politics. The 3 subjects to bring up if you want to lose friends or get into a futile argument where no one wins and the other side is more steadfast in their beliefs than they were before the argument, logic be damned on either side.

Anyway, have fun. I'm going to start popping some popcorn before I sit down to read this forum.

I love popcorn. Almost as much as stirring a pot. I don't care how Allen West lost. He lost. He was a one term congressman. You would have thought lawsuits would have been filed? You would have thought he would have run again if it was that close the first time. Nope. In the end, my statement is true, a disgraced one term congressman. ¿Comprende?
