The judge ruled that a Police Officer was the aggressor in a sad story of unnecessary brute force incident in which he shoved a movie theater usher to the ground, and found him guilty on all counts.
The charges of aggravated assault and battery, disturbing the peace and making a false arrest are all misdemeanors the VI Daily News reports. The judge could sentence the cop to 90 days in jail on the disturbing the peace charge and up to a year in jail on each of the other two. Sentencing is set for Sept 27th.
Gretta George remarked after the trial that she was happy that, "justice has finally been done". The incident occurred back on July 17, 2005.

"Justice" is relative; it is my understanding that this is not the first time this officer has been accused of these types of crimes and he will nevertheless keep his job.

I believe in the VI News a couple of days earlier there were three incidents of VIPD involvement in something less than "police like".
If this guy keeps his job, I can only say to all you good folks who are residents......good luck and I hope you don't ever need a cop.
