Hi everyone! I posted on this board last year when we were about to move to St Thomas. We have been here for nearly a year now, and unfortunately, are about to move again to New Hampshire! The upcoming move made me start thinking about what we would miss and what I wished I had known when we first got here.
The biggest thing I wish I had discovered earlier is the Mommy group that meets every Wednesday at the Tot Lot. I finally "found" this group of about 20 families about 2 months ago and have just fallen in love with many of them. I have made great friends in just a few months, and now I'm very sad that we are leaving soon. I wish I had made these friendships back in August when I first moved!
So, if anyone is moving with small children, feel free to PM me and I will get you in touch with the "group." Maybe you won't waste as many months bored and lonely like I did!

Its really nice that you posted this. I dont have tot aged kids anymore, mine are elementary and high school, but I know those moms who have tot aged kids really appreciate inside info on how to get connected.

smile: The price of getting advice on this board is that you have to write up your story for the "Moving Stories" section! 
It really does help others to know this kind of information- what you did and how you might do things differently in retrospect. I hope you will write, because there are frequently people who want to move here with children, and perhaps isolation is something they should be warned about?

That's why I "came back" to the boards. I promise to post my story as soon as I write it up and make it sound pretty. I just thought there may be some moms who check here instead of the stories. But, I promise, EastEnder...I will pay my debt!
