Gov. Kenneth Mapp discusses federal disaster relief Friday.
After a brief government shutdown, the U.S. Congress approved a $300 billion dollar spending bill Friday to run the country, and included $89 billion for hurricane and wildfire disaster recovery for Texas, Florida, California, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
“By what the U.S. Congress has done and President Trump has done, we are calculating the benefit to the Virgin Islands will exceed $7.5 billion for our recovery,” Gov. Kenneth Mapp said at a news conference Friday.
thats excellent
$7.5 billion? I don't believe that for a second. Even Stacy Plaskett said yesterday on Mario's radio show that the shares have not been divided up yet and its uncertain what amount the VI will ultimately get.
Send the money down with total oversight. Do not hand a penny to this corrupt government.
Be that as it may, it's an election year for the Govenor. I'm sure he'll do everything he can to make voters happy,
Whatever the amount he will try to steal it.
