Good STT celebratory lunch spot?
Hello, Thomians. Will be going over to St. Thomas mid-week and need an extraordinary lunch spot for a small celebration. Herves looked promising, then saw on some sites it closed..?
Then saw Vergillios ....thoughts? We will be coming from Crown Bay, but will have a car.
Thanks.
You might take a look at Gladys'. I haven't been there is several years, but it's totally charming and quaint and quasi-elegant, as well as very upscale local cuisine!
We actually had our (very small) wedding reception luncheon there. It was wonderful.
Lots of newer places, too. There's always The Ritz.
The Cellar or Pesce in Red Hook are some nice spots.
Can't remember if The Cellar is open only at night or not.
XO right across the street from those 2 is a really good lunch spot as well.
For a really good Italian meal try Romanos in Smith bay. The food, wine, and service are the best on the island.
Coming from Crown Bay you might want to try Craig and Sally's in Frenchtown - W-Th-Fri lunches.
Vergillios is absolutely awesome for lunch every time. Craig and Sally's has a really nice lunch too. If you're wanting something a bit quieter and more upscale, I'd go Vergillios.
Bella Blu of course! Was called Alexander's. Now referred to as Alexander's Bella Blu,
From a write up.
Hobnob with the island's movers and shakers at Alexander's Café. While they come to see and be seen, the food is the drawing card for both residents and visitors. Alexander's stakes its reputation on delicious Austrian dishes like schnitzel, but pastas, seafood, chicken and beef selections also make appearances on the extensive menu. For an appetizer, try the three-tuna sushi or one of Alexander's excellent patés. Save room for dessert. The selection changes daily, but they are always tasty and made in-house.

And this from the Chief Mover and Shaker!!:D
All nice. Thank you. Hmmm now the hard part!
And depending on when, parking could be an issue for downtown restaurants. Virgilio's has been closed for cleaning. Don't know their reopening date. Cuzzin's would be by downtown favorite if you do find a parking space.Think they are closing to clean as well. It's that time of the year so better check.
XO has an amazing lunch--In Red Hook, Fishtails also is nice and outdoors with a decent amount of space. I don't think Romano's does lunch, nor do Pesce and the Cellar [I'm pretty sure of this].
Pie whole is nice in Frenchtown but it's small...
Fat Turtle in Yacht Haven Grande or Wikked if they have started serving lunch again are also good spots to look at
It will be during the week In November...
What about Tavern on the Waterfront?
Pesce does do lunch.
I am with the Frenchtown recommendations because they are close- Bella Blu or Craig and Sally's. Maybe not as fancy, but as delicious, is lunch at En Kai, overlooking Crown Bay.
Downtown: Virgillio's is reopening tomorrow, so it would also be open. Cuzzin's is great, too.(tu)
Grande Cru at Yacht Haven Grande. Beautiful location, lovely atmosphere. Interesting and creative menu, artful plating, simply delicious. An appropriate place for a celebration.
