Can anyone recommend VI or Carribbean authors for fiction and titles/authors for non fiction such as history, gardening, and culture? What are some standards for grade school literature? Also, I've noticed that film is becoming a big thing in the islands. Can anyone point me in the direction of notable directors/producers/films that have come out of the VI's?

The Settler's Handbook includes some of this. There are simply a ton of books and movies, and I would have to sit here for an hour and type. Try an amazon.com search.

Hello,

I notice you said Caribbean & VI authors...

If you are particularly interested in this topic I would suggest you contact Dr. Vincent Cooper at vcooper@uvi.edu and Dr. Gene Emanuel at gemanue@uvi.edu
they both teach Caribbean Literature at the University of the Virgin Islands.
